Welcome to Paul Montany, MD, a surgical practice specializing in thoracic, vascular and general surgery. We have helped patients in the Bootheel manage their health concerns for more than 7 years, bringing a personal touch to patient care.
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
These simple words summarize the culture of our practice. We understand that most patients come to see us at a time of great concern, stress and maybe even fear. We treat each person in our care with the best professional surgical care available while striving to provide comfort and compassion in a time of uncertainty.
We hope our website helps you get to know us better. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you through surgical care that is second to none.

Dr. Montany is from upstate New York. He loves living in a small community where his neighbors lend a hand to one another. He has a passion for serving others and believes, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” When he’s not at work, he enjoys going to the movies, having a good meal with friends, and playing Trivial Pursuit with his family. Here are some things you might not know about Dr. Montany – he likes to read Family Handyman and he used to be a pretty good French horn player.

Alexa is from Gideon, MO. She is passionate about cooking and taking care of her patients, and loves being part of a fast paced environment. Her personal motto comes from her Papa, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Her family is what makes her world turn around and Southeast Missouri is where she and her family are growing their roots. If she’s ever MIA, she’s probably on a balcony somewhere over the ocean, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise.

Jana is from Gideon, MO. She is a friendly hard worker who’s happiest while playing an exciting game of softball or volleyball. She thrives on interacting with her patients and coworkers and has a good sense of humor about Dr. M referring to her as “Really, Jana!?”. One thing on her bucket list is sky diving! When she was 10 years old she wanted to be a veterinarian. Jana is a thrill seeker with a caring heart. Her personal motto is “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”

Kassidy is from Sikeston, MO. She loves coffee and thrives on connecting with others in her community. She enjoys live music, board games and good company. Her furry family members, Simba and Izuku, are among her favorite company. Kassidy believes, “Your focus determines your reality.” She is passionate about suicide prevention and you might see her on an awareness walk for the cause.

Donna is originally from California. She is a helpful and encouraging co-worker who loves living in a community that comes together to help each other. Donna is a certified EMT and growing up, she wanted to be a nurse. She is passionate about the local organization Hope Exchange that helps people in the community who have been diagnosed with cancer. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities. You might see her walking, riding her bike, or fishing with her grandchildren.
